Frequently Asked Questions
Why have some of my words disappeared?
Content can disappear from your word list for a number of reasons:
- The spaced repetition algorithm has determined that you do not need to review that word today
- For school-based material, your school may have removed the course, unit or term
What's the difference between Random mode and Spaced Repetition mode?
Spaced Repetition mode uses Wurdle's spaced repetition algorithm to determine
which words you should review. In this mode you are only shown a subset of
terms and you must score each term.
Random Mode works in a way that is more similar to traditional flashcards. Random terms are
chosen from all the available terms in the selection. No scoring is required.
Why do I have to score myself?
Scoring is part of the spaced repetition process. When you provide a score,
Wurdle uses it to calculate the next interval (the number of days to hide the word for).
Different scores affect the interval differently.
Why do some terms remain on my schedule even after I have scored them?
While the spaced repetition algorithm recalculates new intervals after every review, the term will not leave your daily schedule until you score either a
